BLB Solicitors again achieve a substantial increase in damages

BLB Solicitors have achieved an increase in a client’s damages award from £1,300 to £291,000.

Our client had, incredibly, been advised by a large national firm of solicitors to accept an offer of settlement of £1,300. Fortunately, she decided not to accept this appalling advice and instead sought a second opinion from us.

As a result of her accident, our client developed a Somatoform Pain Disorder, which raises very complex issues relating to medical causation. Such cases should only be dealt with by a highly specialist solicitor with extensive experience of litigation involving chronic pain disorders.

Richard Lowes, the partner at BLB Solicitors who conducted the claim, said “this case was far from straightforward, but then the nature of somatoform disorders means that a forensic approach is always necessary. It involved an awful lot of work to put right the damage done by our client’s former solicitors. They were clearly way out of their depth but seemed unprepared to admit that to her.

I am delighted to have been able to achieve this excellent result for her. The level of the award is indicative of what she has been through and, sadly, will continue to go through for the rest of her life.”
