What causes Neuropathic Pain (Neuralgia)?

The question as to what causes Neuropathic Pain (or Neuralgia) does not have a straightforward answer.

Neuropathic pain symptoms are often experienced by sufferers of conditions as diverse as multiple sclerosis, diabetes or shingles. Other conditions associated with Neuropathic Pain include, cancer, alcoholism, HIV infection, thyroid problems and phantom limb pain following amputation. Sometimes, however, there is no obvious related condition and the symptoms of neuropathic pain appear in isolation.

The pain experienced is usually described as a burning sensation and affected areas are often hypersensitive to touch. Sufferers also often report ‘pins and needles’ and electric shock sensations.

“Richard’s understanding, professionalism and sheer tenacity was inspirational and his hard work turned the case around resulting in my receiving a settlement which included funds that allow me to receive treatment that help make my condition more bearable. My husband and I are extremely grateful to Richard, his secretary Amanda and BLB for all they have done for me.” PS (£410,000 received), September 2017

Why do you need a specialist Neuropathic Pain Solicitor?

Neuropathic pain can be debilitating and somebody developing the condition following an accident needs to be reassured that their solicitor fully understands their condition and has the necessary skill and experience to deal with the often complex legal and evidential issues involved in pursuing their claim. In fact, most of our client begin their claims with other law firms before becoming disillusioned by their lack of understanding and seeking more specialist representation.

Over many years, we have worked with hundreds of clients suffering Neuropathic Pain and through them have developed not only an unrivalled understanding of the condition, but also excellent working relationships with many of the country’s leading medical experts. As Neuropathic Pain Solicitors, this is knowledge and expertise we use daily for our clients’ benefit.

We understand the fundamental importance of seeking early specialist treatment and are regularly able to arrange funding for the complete range of treatment option.

In summary, what you can expect when you instruct us is:

  • access to the leading experts in the field to get you the specialist medical help you so desperately need;
  • regular requests for early interim payments to fund the cost of treatment and rehabilitation as recommended by the medical experts;
  • consideration as to whether you would benefit from a medically qualified case manager to co-ordinate your treatment, rehabilitation, purchase of specialist equipment and adaptations to your home.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you’ve done for me. Time and time again during this process you proved you understood what I was going through and really kept me going. It’ll be strange now not speaking to you regularly. You are so reassuring and always filled me with confidence that we’d succeed. And we did! Thank you again.” MB (£235,000 received), July 2018
