Specialist Chronic Pain Solicitor
Qualifying as a solicitor in 1994, Mark has been a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Accreditation Scheme since 1999. Universally respected, Mark is a highly sought after solicitor, recommended regularly by barristers and other solicitors to their own family and friends.
Throughout his career Mark has worked for victims of personal injury and clinical negligence, agreeing (or obtaining by Court order) interim payments, facilitating packages of care, aids and equipment and securing tens of millions of pounds in compensation.
“I would just like to express my gratitude to Mark who has literally turned my life around. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have had the treatment which has helped me so much. The money has also meant that I now have the luxury of being able to take some time to decide my future direction. Picking up the telephone that day was the best decision that I could have made!” AT, client
Helping those who have suffered catastrophic injuries or developed life-changing conditions, Mark has litigated for protected parties, arranged personal injury trusts and worked with deputies of the Court of Protection.
For over two decades Mark has helped sufferers of debilitating pain conditions to obtain treatment and compensation. Mark’s considerable expertise in this area of law has lead to him being invited to give lectures about the medico-legal process to solicitors, barristers and medical experts.
“A really BIG thank you Mark! I’m sitting here stunned after settlement of my compensation claim … stunned and thrilled to bits. From the bottom of my heart I thank you….incredible…what a ginormous difference that money will make. THANK YOU!!! You are truly amazing …exceptional approach….magnificent people skills, so approachable and never judgemental. I have not met professionals like you, counsel you instructed for me or your staff, ever. Legal-angels. I just stepped back and trusted you all. Never, ever had a single doubt we would come thru the whole thing without a good outcome. Trust was not easy after the experience with my last solicitors but I never needed to worry with your firm, never. It took me months to pluck up the courage, a few times chickening out but I finally made the one call to your office that saved me. My faith in your profession has been restored … thank you.” EH, client
Having previously worked for BLB for 15 years, in 2018 the firm were delighted to welcome Mark’s return to the firm’s chronic pain team.
“It’s wonderful to welcome Mark back to the team that he co-founded so many years ago,” said team head, Andrew Atkinson. “His arrival further strengthens our unrivalled expertise and our profile in this highly complex area.”
A member of the Law Society’s Civil Justice Committee, Mark takes an active role in debate and discussion with other lawyers whose aim it is to keep under review and to promote improvements in civil litigation, including dispute resolution. Mark has also been a contributor to the Law Society’s Gazette.
Out of the office, Mark enjoys spending time with his family and taking long walks with his (sometimes reluctant) Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Betsy.
